Today it's a pantry staple that I would like to share with you, foodies. Yes, homemade bread crumbs in no time ! They are widely used in coating cutlets, nuggets, rolls and so on for that crunchy crust and texture. You needn't buy them every time if you have 10 minutes at your disposal. Not even 10, actually. Hardly 5-8 minutes.

You may make and store these in your fridge in airtight containers and use whenever your recipe demands.

The only ingredient you need is bread! White, brown, any!

Here I have used 10 slices of brown bread and a few pieces of crust and that gave me 3&1/2 cups of breadcrumbs.

Here's how you go about it.

1. Toast the bread in a toaster or skillet. Toasting is optional but do ensure there is no moisture in the bread and it is dry. Use the heel if you have those(The end slices of the bread) or the crusts that you remove every time you make sandwiches. They are the best options. Next time you are removing the crusts, collect them and use them to make bread crumbs and the heel too. Usually, there are no takers for it.

2.Tear them roughly and put them in a mixer jar or food processor when it is at room temperature.

3.Run the mixer for a few seconds.

4. They would be a coarse texture now.Check if you have any big chunks of bread

5. Run the mixer again for a few seconds and your bread crumbs are ready. Make them as fine or coarse as your recipe demands.

6. Leave them to air for a few minutes .

6. Store in airtight containers in the fridge.

Why buy when it is as easy as this 😎
