I know folks who take french toasts as snack. In the West it is more on the breakfast menu. For me it is something I can have any time of the day. This is a savoury version of the classic milk, egg , sugar and cinnamon sweet toast.

This is one of those recipes I learnt as a beginner. It is quite appetising yet, simple and easy for even a newbie to catch up.

You may add milk and chilli powder as well.

Cut bread into a shape of your choice. You may even leave as such or simply remove the crust. I have cut them into 4 different shapes. Kids find it interesting .

The crust hasn't been removed. I have used brown bread.

Heat a frying pan. Brush oil. You may use 4-5 tbsp oil and shallow fry if you prefer taste over health.

ree

Dip each piece into the egg mixture.

ree

Coat both sides.

ree

Arrange them on the pan and cook over medium to low flame.

ree

Spoon in a little oil around the edges. Flip and fry on both sides.

Air-fried Version:

I have attached pictures of the air fried ones too. Try if you can make out which are air fried and which are regular toasted. The air fried ones come out crispier as plain toasts.
