They in no way look like waffles.Well, I don't have a waffle maker and am not planning to buy one . The two flat plates in the waffle iron make the waffles crispy with their shape. Had been craving for some and thought to try making those in the sandwich maker.
The first batch I made turned out more heavy and soft like a sponge cake than crisp like waffles. Made some modification and it was good to go.
Was wondering whether to put it down here . Then, decided I might as well. What if there is someone like me who wants to give it a try.

You have soft fluffy waffles(if you may call it so)
Drizzle some chocolate sauce or add whipping cream, seasonal fruits, ice cream and enjoy the waffles hot.
Read on to see how you can get them crispier.I have some chocolate waffles next.
To get crispier waffles, add in very little batter and spread it around thinly and prepare as suggested before waiting for the indicator to go out twice for cooking both the sides.
Chocolate batter
Pour limited quantity
Spread it towards the outer frame.Puffs up even though you pour a thin layer.
Release the edges using a fork
Release the waffle
Flip and cook
They turn out crispier
Try the first batch and pour as thin or thick depending on your preference.
The less batter you pour and spread thinner, the crispier they turn out
